Apparently, Oxford Word of the Year (yes, an actual award) for 2009 is : unfriend
unfriend – verb – To remove someone as a ‘friend’ on a social networking site such as Facebook.
This word apparently has "currency and potential longevity". And has beat out other words in the running for the prize such as : netbook, sexting, ecotown and intexticated.
