AirAsia's my kind of airline!

Wooohooo! I managed to bag 2 tickets to Macau via AirAsia! Okay, it's not exactly free ... but it's one of those "1 million free seats" that were available. All-in RM373/- per person. Quite a bargain.

Now, to slowly trawl through the bags full of budget accommodation in Hong Kong. Causeway Bay or Tsimshatsui? Save on accommodation for shopping, or stay in somewhere that's not a fire hazard? Decisions decisions ...

But I'm glad - 5 days in Macau / Hong Kong ... we'll see if it's the shopping destination it proclaims to be.

My left ankle

I'm stuck home today with a sprained ankle. This happening left ankle of mine is the reason why 4 years ago I became a comfortable-shoes advocate for Clarks, Hush Puppies, Scholl and Primavera. And yesterday, this happening ankle of mine decided to remind me for the 4th (or 5th, I can't keep count) time that I should watch where I'm stepping. Even while wearing perfectly flat Ipanema slippers.

But thank goodness for the flats, and thank goodness for KF's strong hand, and thank goodness it was only a short small step at The Curve, because this time the missed-step didn't cause as much pain as last time. Goodness, I still get shivers when I remember how I missed one step at home, brrr.

Since a couple of months back, this happening ankle has been giving me slight needly pains whenever it's about to rain. Yes, I do believe it's early signs of rheumatism (before I'm 30!) and due to all the sprained episodes on the same ankle. My "lucky" ankle is the reason why I spend hundreds on shoes (comfy shoes don't come cheap) and why I walk quite slowly (needing to watch every step I take).

But I guess there's a reason for everything. I'm grateful that the pain is not as excruciating as previous episodes. And that it gives me reason to sit and do nothing for a day or two. Can you hear that tune? "Al-ways look-on-the brighhhht-side-of-life!"

I resolve

As always, the traditional resolutions for the year. I've achieved every single thing on my to-do list for 2006, except one which, due to circumstances not in my control, I've had to bring forward to this year. And so, for this year (the year that will mark the end of my mid-20's), I resolve to :
  • Finish 2 of my practical tasks for TPC submission
  • Start studying seriously (yes, again!) for my Board interview
  • Travel overseas (at least once, possibly Shanghai) and locally (at least once, possibly to an island) - money is going to be tight, can't do as much travelling as I did in 2006
  • Be a tidier person and learn to be a good weekend-housekeeper and weekend cook! (I'm looking forward to knocking up stuff in my own kitchen and keeping the dear's tummy happy and generally fulfilling all my Cancerian tendencies)
  • Keep my weight below 50 kilos (yah, I'm not light)
  • Revamp my wardrobe (not just keep spending on Hush Puppies and Clarks and Scholls)

2006 was an immensely busy year. I hope 2007 won't be so much of busy, but more of fulfilling.
