Wicked!

If you frequent the same blogs I do, you'll probably have stumbled upon this game The Wicked a long time ago. I am currently hooked to it. But only manage about 1 or 2 levels every night. It certainly keeps your brain juice flowing. IQ test anyone?

The evil called thin

After a week of getting up at 6am to work on the cross-trainer, self-restrain on carbohydrates and sugar food, and with help from Biotherm's Celluli-zone, I successfully lost 3kg!!

Very unfortunately, I put them all back during the weekend. I do not know how I did that. I feel like the hamster on the wheel.

And I realized that "being thin" can very easily become an obsession.

Those slimming centres are starting to look really attractive. Unluckily (or luckily), I can't afford to lose that much money, I can only afford to lose calories. So too bad, Marie France, you're not tempting me.

I think I'm not meant to only be concentrating on only one thing. When I was doing my Masters, I so looked forward to the days when I only had to think of work and not assignments. Then now, when I have finished my Masters, I spend all my time (and I mean all my time), remembering to tighten my tummy muscles, work those thighs and arms, reject that bowl of rice or slice of bread, sit less at the table and stand more at the photocopy machine, eat only when I feel real hungry, drag myself out of bed at ungodly hours ... work is always taking second place behind something else.

But then, trying to be slim is already blardy hard work.

My only motivation is that if I manage to regain my 21-year-old waistline, I'll be a happy woman, and Rome will be a beautiful shopping city :)

Darn the supermodels and all designers who only design pretty clothes for the thin.

The first of us

My friend SL's wedding to CM was a beautiful event, all because it was a labour of love. Let me count the ways. The aunts and all kinds of female relatives converged in the open-air kitchen to dish up all kinds of food for the night-before-the-wedding dinner at the bride's house. The sisters of the bride (and her chi mui's like us) ran up and down to gather things, find stuff, buy this and that, decorate the new couple's room, spruce up the wedding lunch hall. We actually found time to cut a cake for Nat's birthday too! The boyfriends holding the videocam and various digital cameras to record every memorable second. It was really truly a beautiful wedding - because everyone made an effort to make it beautiful for the couple.

Nat detailed out our weekend away in Benta, complete with photos.

3-in-1 Kungfu girl

Oh my goodness, what a good read! Totally liven-ed up my Monday workday!

Friend forwarded this link to me. Be warned, it takes up your entire lunch hour (and maybe more)! Give the Kungfu-girl a try - you'll be amazed that there are actually such entertaining Malaysian writers around.

Packed and sent off

I've done it!

Yesterday, I DHL-ed my dissertation to Reading. The two bound copies cost me RM26 each. I put them in a bubble-wrap envelope, made DHL put it in their waterproof bag, then stuffed it into the DHL 2kg box. They said it will arrive on Tuesday. And postage cost me RM230. Ouch! But it will be worth every cent when I finally get the nod to graduate with an MSc in Real Estate.

So yes, I've been busy on my dissertation. Actually, not really la. It spent 4 days sitting at the binders. During the time of which I started my research on my London-Rome trip.

And oh yes, attended Leo Ku - Miriam Yeung's CNY concert in Putra Stadium Bukit Jalil on Feb 25. The longest concert I ever attended - 3 hours 15 mins. Best part was when the guest artiste Justin Lo appeared. He has an amazing voice with fantastic stage charisma. The concert was totally worth the RM80 ticket :)

Yesterday, went to Marco's Pizza, newly-opened in Tmn Mayang. Nice clean and bright place. Great pasta. Good pizza. Expensive drinks. Cost us RM105 total for 2 regular pizzas, a pasta, a piece of cake, 8 drinks. And guess what? Tonight I'll be going there again with my family! :)

And ooh, I just returned from a trip to 1-Utama with my mum. We decided to buy exercise equipment for the house. So we purchased a Diamondback cross-trainer, an AbLounger, a BodyTwister and a pair of 3-lb dumbbells. So, I get to work my lower body, my abs, my waist and my arms. Hehe, can put off signing up for a gym until I get bored of the machines :)

I'm glad I'm a free person now! Feels great to not have to think of studying or writing. Too bad KF is not around for the week - enjoying himself in Japan - and aiyo, Japan uses different telecommunications from us, so we can't even sms :( So, I shall just spend time doing nothing for the next few days ... b-l-i-s-s ...
