It's the end of July! Must get off my lazy bums ...

Q : How long does it take to make a U-turn on the LDP when you're already at the U-bend?

A : 55 minutes.

I don't blame the policemen, they're just doing their job as ordered from someone up there.

I blame "up there"! Oi you, up there, got no brains wan issit?? As if the early morning crawl to work is not enough, you have to organize "road blocks" where the police just stand and gaze in each other's eyes like they dunno why they're there. They're not even stopping traffic - merely causing traffic to stop! And roadblocks stop demos from happening issit? Or are you up there so paranoid you're gonna fall off your throne that you have to do this everytime the opposition shifts their butt? Bodoh!

Ok. Rant over. I shall get back to the rat race.

The lack of blogging is not because I'm so caught up with work I have no space to breathe. It is not because I'm busy catching live telecasts of petrol debates. It is also not because I spend my spare time doing housework.

Actually, let me reiterate. When I'm in a good mood, I quite like doing housework - packing up the dried dishware, putting the right things in the right cabinets, sweeping the floor, water the plants, etc etc. Nothing major la of course. When I'm in a better mood, I might wash the bathroom too. It's actually therapeutic :P (I am going nuts!)

As I was saying, the lack of blogging is not because I'm busy. There's just nothing to blog about. I could blog about the many wedding invitation cards I've received - but that's normal news for everyone at our age, isn't it? I could blog about how baby milk powder with their weird alphabets are creating babies that are abnormally clever (my colleague's 6-month old can whistle and snap her fingers!). Or I could tell you how I think I'm getting so much responsibilities at work that I'm drowning in it - but oddly, I'm still able to keep pressure at bay and with an assistant, I actually enjoy working (you guys can all roll your eyes now).

Or I could blog about how we had this wonderful delicious buffet dinner at One World Hotel's Cinnamon Cafe on my birthday - the hubby paid! The chocolate fountain was so delightful (I know I know I'm jakun, but I do so love marshmallows dipped in chocolate!). Best of all was the company :)

And this Saturday is JC's "animal night"! Animals - because there are guys in the group, so it can't be merely "hens". Should be fun.

I want to go shopping. Got sale leh!

My mummy just called me, saw the clock, 11.07am :)

Actually, a birthday is not a very special day. But it makes it very special when everyone wishes you and thinks it is a special day for you.

At 28, I hope to accomplish what I've set out to do this year. I hope to be a more serene, courageous and wise person, to live with grace and compassion. To be a better person and a good friend.

So fluffy, I know! :P

It's my birthday, I can do what I want :)

I give up. It's exhausting to follow the news these days. I'll just go about doing my own job and hope the economy doesn't crash-land too soon - but judging from how busy our government is trying to wash everyone's dirty linen, don't think they have much time left to actually run the country.

At times like this, it's good to just crawl into your own shell and pretend nothing's happening.

But no, wait, you can't do that. Because RM5 can no longer buy you a plate of chicken rice and a drink. Because servicing your car now costs more than your company's mileage claims pay for. Because high prices, inflation and the imminent recession ultimately affects you - not the government hotshots who still drive around in their limos back to their luxurious bungalows at the end of the day and take overseas vacations with allowances paid by us.

Today, I went to the mapping department in KL. When I entered one of the numerous division's offices, I saw 2 ladies and a man hanging around in the office, chatting happily away. The office is huge, with many empty tables and empty partitioned rooms. Ok, not empty, merely not occupied as the occupants are probably chatting on another floor. I wondered, "How come the mapping department pays for so many staff who have absolutely nothing to do? How come the private sector people have to slog every working day but these people can just come to office knowing they have a very lepak day ahead with nothing more urgent than chatting?"

Okay, it is at this point that I realized that I need to get started on that new year resolution I've postponed for a couple of years. This year, I shall get that professional qualification. After that, I shall work towards having people work for me. The future shall be what I want it to be, regardless of what nonsense goes on in the govt.
